Rate Field

Bag Policy

• Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags that do not exceed 12” x 12” x 6” are permitted. Non-clear clutch bags measuring 9” x 5” x 2” or smaller are allowed.
• Backpacks (even clear ones), drawstring bags, briefcases, and hard or soft-sided coolers are strictly forbidden. Exceptions include Diaper bags (child must be present) and medically necessary bags are permitted but subject to additional search.

Gate/seating info

• Shaded seats For day games, sit on the first-base side (sections 130-140) to avoid direct sunlight.
• Gates open Gates typically open 90 minutes before the scheduled first pitch.
• Street Closures Note that 35th Street and several surrounding streets close to car traffic 90 minutes prior to the game and remain closed until one hour after the game ends.
• Accessibility info Guests needing elevator access should enter through Gate 5, Gate 4, or the Stadium Club. Escalator access is at Gates 3 and 5.

Parking

• Lots Parking lots typically open 2 hours before first pitch. The ballpark is 100% cashless. Parking must be paid for via credit/debit card or mobile payment. Buying passes in advance via the White Sox website can save you around $10.
• Ride-Share (Uber/Lyft) Drop-offs and pick-ups are generally directed to designated zones; fans in need of assistance can be dropped off in Lot B (access via 33rd Street).
• Tailgating Permitted in most parking lots. You must tailgate directly behind your vehicle and cannot occupy additional parking spaces.
• Accessibility info Accessible parking is available in Lots B, C, and E for those with state-issued placards.

Food and Drink

• Water While outside alcohol is prohibited, you can generally bring in one factory-sealed plastic water bottle (1 liter or smaller).
• Food Guests are allowed to bring in food if it is in a small, clear plastic bag.

Insider tips

• While the 100-level offers great, close action, many fans argue that the 500-level (upper deck) offers a "magnificent," sweeping view of the field and city skyline.
• The Craft Lodge (Right Field) is a popular, often overlooked spot near sections 107-108, featuring over 75 beer/seltzers, food, and a front-row view of the visitor's bullpen.
• Head to the 100-level concourse for premium options like Ricobene's breaded steak sandwich, elote, and Cuban sandwiches.
• "Tough ticket" games against the Cubs, Yankees, or Red Sox usually promise the best atmosphere.
• Take the CTA Red Line to Sox-35th for the easiest access. If driving, pre-purchase parking in official lots to avoid scams and high prices.
• Visit the Kids Zone in left field for interactive activities.
• Watch the "exploding scoreboard" in center field—a tradition with fireworks and pinwheels after a White Sox home run.
